Hey guys! I was listening to this song after the first time I ever played DA2 and I think it fits Anders really well. The one lyric really stood out to me: "One question haunts and hurts | Too much, too much to mention | Was I really seeking good? | Or just seeking attention?"
Every time he tries to do good, it often ends up badly for him. He tries to save Karl and he ends up getting caught by the templars, he joins the wardens and then they turn on him the minute they're able to, he tries to make change peacefully and no one listens to him, he runs an underground free clinic but he has to stay hiding, the list goes on. I think it especially describes his feelings in Act 3 because at that point he's just desperate. He figures he might as well be the "villain" everyone makes him out to be and does something very drastic.
I think you could also make the argument that it fits Vivienne too. Her main goal is to make life better for her fellow mages. She has to rise in power in order to do that. So she creates this mask for herself and she just lets people think what they want about her (power hungry, the villain, etc.) because at the end of the day, she's getting where she needs to be.
I hope I explained myself well. What do you guys think? Are there other characters that you feel fits the song too?

That's a really good interpretation. Every time Anders tries to do something good, well nothing good comes of it in the end. So yeah, he ends up doing something bad in order to see something good actually happen. And he is very aware of the fact that he's crossed a line and that he'll become a villain in other people's minds. But to him, it was a line that he needed to cross in order to change the world.
